Chunk Down Your Big Goal to Create Your Path to Success

I had an interesting call the other day with a sweet lady struggling to grow her network marketing business. I was asking where she'd like to see her business in the next 6 to 12 months, and she couldn't give me an answer!

Honestly, I was a bit shocked. Because if you don't know where you're going, how on earth are you going to get there?

I remember when I first started in network marketing, the big hairy audacious goal was to earn the fancy white car. If you could earn the white car, you would be zooming along the highway of success!

When you're at a conference or team meeting, you can get pretty jacked up with excitement and determination to get to that top rank.

But on the days when your business isn't quite growing how you'd hoped, what you actually need to accomplish to get to that top rank seems so far out of reach!

If the thought of attaining that top rank feels more deflating than inspiring, breaking it down step-by-step can help ease your brain and make it feel much more achievable. Earning the car or top rank is too far off!

Think about moving up just one rank. What do you need to do to get there?

You can't do it by yourself, so you're going to need to talk to people. Those people will either become a customer, a team member or they're going to give you the dreaded "No". But that's ok because you're just sorting! Getting a "No" isn't a bad thing because then you know where they stand! Nothing is more frustrating than a "maybe".

Again, keeping it simple, get your calculator out and figure out if just one person joined your team and purchased the recommended starter pack, how much volume is left to get to the next rank? And on average, how much does a customer spend with you? How many customers do you need to get to the volume you need?

When you calculate that number, does it feel achievable? If yes, then you know what you have to do. If not, maybe you need to bring on two new team members. Calculate what that gives you towards your rank, then figure out what you need to fill in with customer orders.

Once you've figured those numbers out, it's time to get busy! Move your focus from the big goal to the daily income-producing activity you need to do in order to reach your goal.

Take the pressure off yourself by focusing on the daily activity, not the end goal.

You noticed I said daily activity, not once in awhile activity, right?
